This article was written about two and a half years ago, when things were very bleak on the Apple hardware front. I agree, with the new hardware, they are finally coming to their senses.

Aside from the M1 chip, I think that ditching the touch bar is a great development. As well as adding a bit of port diversity. Ubuntu already runs on an M1 Mac Mini. So I may just consider buying an M1 MBP and install elementary OS on it. :)
