You’re not the first one to recommend the Lenovo Carbon. I haven’t touched it yet, but for me the aesthetic aspect fo a laptop is nearly as important as the functional one. As a designer, I just can’t deal with a trackpad that’s not aligned at the centre of the body. It’s very disturbing to me. :)

After a lot of research, the XPS 15 came out as the best combination of build quality and design. Runner-up was the Asus UX590VD. Aesthetically, I liked it better, but the odd keyboard layout and complaints about throttling and coil whine from existing owners, made me choose for the XPS 15.

In the meantime, I even sold that one because I found it too ugly after all. Now, I am writing this on a white and gold XPS 13, which is a surprisingly fast and light machine with excellent build quality. I really love it as much as I used to love my Macs. It has all the perks of a new 2018 MacBook Air, but it’s twice as fast and has twice the amount of RAM, at the same price.
